GOALKEEPERS DREAM ON! – NEW YORK 2017

Imagine a place where all the most devoted change-makers worldwide meet the most-devoted philanthropists and world leaders over a cup of coffee.

Imagine a direct chat with Obama reflecting on leadership and a talk with Justin Trudeau on the power of women in politics and work-life balance.

Imagine an exchange of views with Malala on the power of individual initiatives and then imagine that we can fully eradicate poverty, grant universal access to education for everybody and ensure that no child in the world will be hungry again.

4. Goalkeepers
It is obvious that we have a long way to go until we will fully achieve the 17 Sustainable Development Goals fixed by the United Nations for 2030. But the Goalkeepers meeting organized by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in New York last 19th and 20th of September was definitely a place to dream big.

YouthProAktiv, on its compromise to specially achieve goals 4 and 8 was participating on this inspiring gathering of activists devoting their talents and energies to make dreams come true.

Technology with a purpose; The Power of Women’s Movements; Is the World Getting Better? and The ABC guide to achieving the Global Goals where some of the debates on the table. HM Queen Maxima of the Netherlands, Barack Obama, Justin Trudeau , Malala Yousafzai, HM Queen Rania al Abdullah of Jordan, Bill & Melinda Gates, Stephen Fry, Jerome Jarre, Casey Neistat and Juanpa Zurita where just some of the goalkeeper’s friends sharing experiences.

But despite this is one of the event gathering the biggest number of international leaders per Square metre, WE were the main focus of it: individual global citizens taking collective action for the betterment of society.

Because “Progress is possible, but it is not inevitable” and it is our own responsibility to give back what we have received.
