The 5 Commandments of Hugh Viney

Brussels. 16th July. International ProAktivity Summit 2015 & the 5 Commandments of Hugh Viney.

1. FAIL

Spend years on something you truly believe in, only for it to fail. It seems like you’ve wasted time. But the opposite is true. The lessons you learn from this ‘fail’ will become invaluable. Start realizing that no time is ever wasted, and that everything you do will help you to better yourself.

 2. TAKE A PROVEN BUSINESS MODEL, AND DO IT BETTER.

You don’t need to be the next big inventor to make a difference; it doesn’t have to be a completely new idea. Just do it better than the people doing it already.

3. DON’T LISTEN TO ANYONE

Too much information clouds your vision. Pick the 3-5 people you trust.

4. START YOUNG, NOT LATER

Do it in your 20s! It’s stressful enough as it is setting a company. Imagine doing it with a mortgage, a new baby, less energy, higher standards. And you can afford to pay yourself less. Everyone will tell you to get a real job and set your company up in your 30s after some ‘business experience’. Ignore them!

5. DO. THEN THINK ABOUT IT. THEN DO IT BETTER. JUST DO

Be Proactive!
