YouthProAktiv was a proud recruit partner of  The 24-hour Thinkathon event that simultaneously took place on 4-5 October in Montreal and Brussels.

For 24 hours participants worked closely with like-minded people from Montreal and Brussels as well as with motivated online participants, constantly exchanging ideas, progress and results with participants from different cities.

The objective of this event was to make the opinion of the international citizens count while building bridges between governments to ensure a future with an inclusive digital society.

The concept of citizenship is shifting as the environment is becoming more and more digital. As an essential aspect of citizenship, active participation in society is also affected by the digitalization, which presents new opportunities and challenges.

Therefore, citizens from Europe and Canada developed ideas for the future on the topic of “Citizenship 4.0!”

Topics such as digital elections, disinformation, healthcare, better public administration were briefly discussed.  They discussed how technological advancements are changing the understanding of citizenship and how we can use digitality to build an inclusive society with active citizenship!
